FAS-AFT-Data Analytics-Sr Associate-Hyderabad 

Job Description   

 Job Purpose:

 This group deals with analysing electronic client data (data analytics) with a view to providing strategic analytic insight. A member of this team will contribute to the professional delivery of service to the business working in a motivated team environment within the Australian context and reporting to a Manager within the Data Analytics team.

 Data analytics is equipped with the global intelligence network and the specialists to deal with events or transactions that could undermine a company's financial operations. Services are provided in the following categories: Financial and Corporate investigations, **** and misconduct investigations, Financial services investigations, Global asset tracing and discovery.

 DTect is used primarily and is a proprietary Deloitte data mining tool. It is used to identify suspicious and potentially fraudulent transactions. The DTect suite utilises principles of data mining and matching, non-obvious relationship identification and inductive analysis techniques to large quantities of data. It will assist in identifying 'red flags' or anomalies that may not otherwise be detected through standard procedures and reviews of paper audit trails.

 Responsibilities:

 � Receive electronic data from the client ensuring it is in a database friendly format

 � Validate the data received ensuring it is in accordance with that required to complete the analysis (as per the scope of work)

 � Load the data in the DTect analysis database

 � Format and clean the data ready for the analysis

 � Run the required DTectTM tests in accordance with the agreed scope of work

 � Assist with the preparation of the final report

Desired Profile    

Qualification:

 � University degree in computer science or computer engineering or commerce (IT major) or equivalent degree (Essential - dual degree in computer science / engineering AND commerce preferred)

 � Knowledge of basic financial concepts, especially basic accounting (Essential)

 � Knowledge of transact SQL at a scripting level (need to be fluent). Must be able to accurately join and consolidate disparate data sets (Essential)

� Fluent in English (Essential)

 � Programming knowledge of Excel, including VBA (Desired)

 � Previous experience with an Australian firm (Desired)
