Business Intelligence Analyst - World Bank Employment Chennai

Job Description
Within the Corporate Finance and Risk Management Vice Presidency (CFR), the Corporate Planning and Analysis Department (CFRPA) is responsible for aligning resources with strategy and for facilitating performance management through monitoring and reporting. CFRPA Chennai provides analysis and reporting support to CFRPA as well as support for daily performance management and resource management operations.

As a member of CFRPA’s Chennai Team, the Business Intelligence Analyst is expected to provide support to CFRPA HQ with Business Intelligence applications, data extraction, processing, analysis and related quality assurance and testing; running processes to support business operations, conducting training.

Note: If the selected candidate is a current Bank Group staff member with a Regular or Open-Ended appointment, s/he will retain his/her Regular or Open-Ended appointment. All others will be offered a 2 year renewable term appointment.

Duties and Accountabilities

Specific responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
· Work closely with CFRPA HQ in the development, support, maintenance, and deployment of business intelligence applications as well as information support processes.
· Interfacing with CFRPA staff in HQ to understand and identify the need for new products and services.
· Determine and analyze commonly used reporting queries.
· Work with business community representatives to gather reporting requirements.
· Work with CFRPA to develop requirements for business intelligence queries and reporting applications
· Design, develop and test new/revised applications.
· Deploy new/revised applications.
· Design, develop and deploy query parameters, layout, filters, and analytics for business solutions.
· Document functions, processes and changes to new or modified applications.
· Assist in the development and documentation of user training related to new deployments or changes to existing systems or processes.
· Ensure the collected data is within required quality standards.
· Produce and analyze customized data extracts from systems based on user requirements.
· Deliver training on BI tools.
· Perform maintenance of metadata repository.
· Keep business users informed about business intelligence tools, problems, and resolutions.
· Execute periodic processes in SAP R/3 including period end closings, reorganizations, etc.
· Perform periodic transactions in SAP R/3 including budget transfers, capital budgeting setup, etc.
· Maintain master data in SAP R/3.
· Perform data quality assurance.
· Assist CFRPA HQ and VPU units in the collection/extraction of Resource Management (RM) and Performance Management (PM) related data from relevant sources (mainly SAP R/3 and BW) and in the preparation of highly formatted custom reports.
· Run standard reports and customize the output per user specifications suitable for management decision making.
· Provide troubleshooting assistance and user support on RM and PM related systems and processes.

Selection Criteria
Relevant BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Management;
At least 4 years of relevant experience;
Strong skills in, and thorough familiarity with Business Intelligence tools, especially Business Objects.
Knowledge of SAP/R3, Business Warehouse (BW) and Microsoft Excel, including the ability to use interlinked spreadsheets, and financial models;
Work experience in using integrated, automated financial / ERP systems with a comparable level of complexity to SAP R/3;
Demonstrated ability to learn new technology quickly and effectively use it for maximum productivity;
Strong communication skills with the ability to prepare, present, and discuss findings in written and oral form.
